Sinopsis: This book was written to respond to the increasing importance of zakat and waqf in addressing the economic and social challenges of the modern era. With the rapid growth of digital finance, globalization, and socio-political shifts, the management of zakat and waqf requires new perspectives, innovative models, and accountable practices that align with the objectives of shariah (maqasid al-shariah). The chapters of this book explore these issues comprehensively, drawing from classical scholarship while addressing contemporary needs.
Covering nineteen chapters, this work discusses a wide range of themes—from cryptocurrency and zakat-tax harmonization to cash waqf, women’s empowerment, Islamic financial literacy, and the integration of digital and green waqf. It also analyzes institutional dynamics, such as the overlapping roles of BAZNAS and LAZ, and offers insights into practical implementation through case studies and comparative perspectives. The aim is to bridge theory and practice, ensuring that zakat and waqf remain relevant instruments for socio-economic resilience.
